Paris Fashion Week S/S 24 trends
Paris Fashion Week closed this S/S 24 catwalk season, bringing a balance between familiar and new and decorated and striped-back design. We present a glimpse of our Need-to-Know report, where you can dive into all the trend confirmations on patterns, denim, footwear and accessories and much more on the Parisian's catwalks.
#ModernAcademia
If there was any doubt about the #ModernAcademia trend being a key influence in Paris, Miu Miu just put it to rest. The brand continues to subvert popular #YouthEssentials through subtle, significant design tweaks and unexpected styling. For next summer, it combines preppy references with pool-ready shorts in micro lengths that add further fuel to the no-bottoms trend or elongated, boardshort iterations.
#PainterlyPatterns
Bringing a playful edge to S/S 24, painterly patterns tap into consumers’ desire for joy, embracing imperfections and colour bleeding within prints. Florals are spotted throughout, especially in bold designs in large scales or bright colours. This trend is also reflected in other industries as we see it play out in interiors and beauty, too.
#PointedToe
There are a wide range of footwear profiles presented in Paris, but the #PointedToe silhouette is a common thread, seen in items ranging from knee-high boots to pumps. #StatementMules are a highlight, both with #FeatureHeels and flat iterations – another trend to watch from the French capital this S/S 24.
