Set across two weekends, the Coachella festival in the Colorado Desert, California, is the premier music festival in the US and a major event on the influencer calendar. More than just music, Coachella is a cultural moment, shaping trends in fashion, beauty, and lifestyle while offering brands access to affluent youth.

With over 650,000 attendees across two weekends and millions engaging online around the world, the festival sets a marker for annual trends (BBC). Considered the most profitable music festival in the world, it’s also where brands flock to gain access to its influential attendees.

The 2024 iteration of the festival welcomed 200,000 attendees over the two weekends (Billboard) and brought in over $102m in Earned Media Value from various brand activations (Instagram).

Brands capitalised on this exposure with online apparel company Revolve making $34.2m in profit in 2024 while Hailey Bieber-founded beauty brand Rhode earned $19m and Kendal Jenner’s 818 Tequila brand raked in $12.1m. (Instagram).

Coachella 2025 saw young women embracing bolder, more revealing outfits than in previous years, signalling a liberated approach to festival dressing.

Coachella provides strong confirmation of TikTok’s #BohoChic trend. As stated in our TikTok Trading April 2025 forecast, #BohoChic views are up 72.9% YoY (last four weeks compared to the prior four months).

While Nu Boheme remained the dominant aesthetic across the festival, it evolved with an edgier twist, moving away from overtly Pretty Feminine detailing.

The mini dress, short short and boho blouse remain key items, with embellishment details and mixed abstract animal print.

Brands and designers should tap into this edgy, youthful take on Nu Boheme and lean into Noughties Nostalgia rock chick styling. The theme remains a staple for festival dressing, and can be updated with trend-led details.
